The Charleston Area Model Railroad Club has been part of the Lowcountry community since 1983. What began as a small group of rail enthusiasts has grown into a place where creativity, craftsmanship, and a shared love of trains bring people together.
Since 2009, our home at Citadel Mall has welcomed families, hobbyists, and visitors from across the region to experience the magic of model railroading. Every mountain, building, and mile of track on the layout was designed and built by our members with care and dedication.
As the future of Citadel Mall changes, our club must now prepare for the next chapter. We are actively working to preserve and relocate the layout so it can continue to inspire future generations of train lovers.
Your support helps us protect this unique piece of Charleston’s hobby community. Donations will assist with moving the layout, storing materials, and building a new home where the trains can run once again.
For more than 40 years, the Charleston Area Model Railroad Club has been powered by volunteers, members, and the support of our community. Every contribution helps preserve the layout, protect the history we’ve built together, and ensure that future generations can experience the creativity and joy of model railroading.
